Donald Trump’s national lead over Joe Biden also extends to the battleground states that will determine the presidential election — including a 10-point lead in Michigan.
That comes in a state where Biden defeated Trump 51 to 48 in 2020. It’s a state Biden has been courting, even walking a United Auto Workers picket line there in September.

That lead is larger than the lead he currently has over Biden in Georgia, according to the same poll taken by SSRS for the network.
Trump leads the president 49-44 in the state where he faces a 13-count indictment after being indicted along with 18 others in an effort to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump flew to the state to have his mugshot taken in Fulton County, and has since used his prosecution as a rallying cry for his supporters.
His gains appear to be fueled in part by bringing new voters into his coalition. Among those who did not vote in 2020, they support Trump over Biden by a margin of 26 points. In Michigan, the gap is as much as 40 percent.
Both states reflect Biden’s struggles, even with parts of his natural coalition, including young voters.
The president’s overall approval rating is poor in both states. In Michigan it is just 35 percent, lower than his national approval rating, and 39 percent in Georgia.
His general approval runs about 38 percent nationally, with 56 percent disapproval.

Among younger voters under 35, 49 percent in Michigan and 46 percent in Georgia say the U.S. does too much to support Israel.
